1. I'm now officially up at GoodReads, for those of you who play in that sandbox. So you can see what I'm reading, if that's what floats your bookshelves. http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/168090.Laura_Anne_Gilman

2. Di Francis' new book is coming out this month. I love Di's work -- like Lynn Flewlling's books, it's to the point where I just accept that nothing will get done between the time I pick up one of her novels until I finish it. I'd be annoyed if I didn't enjoy it so much (and when's the next Crosspointe book, Di? Huh? Huh?) ETA: and, duh, a nice linky

3. Jim Hines' Mermaid's Madness is also out this month. For feminists, non-trad fantasy fans, and those who aren't sure they're either but are willing to try, Jim's your man and this is the book. ETA: here, linky linky...

4. Cherie Priest has officially Made It. From Twitter: @jonrog1 First up on the hiatus reading list -- Cherie Priest's #Boneshaker (@jonrog is John Rogers, of Leverage).

5. and not bookish at all but I just had to share: http://bit.ly/17aqIG (work-safe but best watched with sound on) (via @T47)

#5: ::snicker:: That bird looks like I feel before coffee in the morning. What movie was that from?

Definitely amusing! Love how the topknot feathers don't wave under high speed flight.

Have to wait until my next run to White Dwarf Books to pick up Mermaid's Madness. And until the library gets in their ordered copy of your new book which I'm first in line for. (Yay!)
