they still like me... *whew*
Aug. 31st, 2009 04:31 pmMonday seems to be egoboo day. 4 stars from ROMANTIC TIMES which, considering this book is almost an anti-romance, is... sort of surprising. But nice -- hopefully other folk who came for the 'shippiness will stay for the fantasy....(it's a worry of mine, yes)
"Gilman's new series is a total departure for the author, who is best known for her Retriever novels. Similarities between the series include interesting characters, strong worldbuilding and a completely different system of magic. Jerzy is a sympathetic protagonist, and readers will root for him from the very first page."
Kirkus, come stomp on me, I'm ready now.
EtA: of course it really isn't a 'total departure' for me at all, as those of you who've read a range of my short fiction will recognize. But it is rathah different from the urban fantasy stuff, oh yes.
