Ball 1: Twenty-five pages left of the revisions for Pack of Lies, and then I get to go back and reread it again to make sure I didn't break anything in the fixing of it. Off-schedule for this, due to a mess of factors, but thankfully Madame Editrix is in Australia right now, so she's not exactly tapping her foot waiting on me...

Ball 2: my first reader is going over Vineart2, while I do more research on details I glossed over in the Very Rough Draft. I love this part -- it's like writing, but with less stress. And every new thing I learn ticks over a new possibility, here and for later.

Ball 3: working on cover/copy stuff for the soon-to-be-retitled Daughter of the Sea and Mustang.

Ball 4: Conspiracy of Shadows editorial work.

Ball 5: writing obligatory "dear reader" letters for reprints of Burning Bridges, Free Fall, and Blood From Stone.

Ball 6: trying to stay cool while doing all this...

If you hear a crash and some swearing, send band-aids and ice packs.

How's everyone else staying busy and/or cool today?

Paul and I will spend the day alternating between desperate attempts to get the cottage in good shape houseskeeping-wise, and computer games. I think I'm going to take some time out to actually work on a novel outline, because it's stuck in my head. My biggest hangup for not proceeding further with it is that I have no names for any characters. Alas, when I brought up naming characters in my topic, I got no response. I may throw it up on that writer list we're both in.

Since I've fallen asleep at the keyboard nine times in the last hour, I may head back to bed. P is still sleeping.

Sitting on the couch by the fan, drinking copious amounts of iced tea and listening to Sunday Morning Baroque on WSHU until it's time for the Red Sox game to start, and catching up on two weeks' worth of personal e-mail, web site updates, and CT Folk Festival work. Not a bad way to spend a summer's day.

I am staying busy by volunteering on Stockholm World Water Week. Today was a light day, only one seminar. I am exhausted. Tomorrow is the Opening Ceremony, and I work from 10-19. Did I mention my mother is picking tomorrow to visit me? Ugh. Ok, it happens to be my birthday, but we are celebrating next week!

driving thru bumper to bumper traffic with no ac? I went to my Nephew's US wedding reception (his wedding was a destination in Cancun) then to a picnic in NJ, and finally home to Long Island?

I finally finished sorting through and posting photos from Worldcon (they are here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/lgbtech/sets/72157622059833796/), btw), took care of much needed laundry and, once the sun had begun to set somewhat, went out to tackle some yard work. Lasted about 45 minutes on that before I started to completely melt.
