As I deal with the usual post-convention resettling of Life, if we met face-to-face in Montreal for the first time (or even the second) please sing out with the details, so my tired brain can fix LJ-handle with Actual Person....

Meanwhile, I was right: the muscle strain/headaches were oncoming Crud. I would like to apologize to the folk I didn't see on Sunday night (I opted for wisdom and crashed early), and thank Canada for giving me the drugs to get me through. :-)

Very sorry to hear about the con crud, but I'm glad to hear that you had a great time in Montreal! It's one of my absolute favorite cities - in the spring and summer, at least. :)

Hope you feel better soon!

I know what you mean - even though I have to say, the scariest encounter I ever had with a street person happened in downtown Montreal. My friend Rich Dansky (who practically calls Montreal a second home these days) tells me that the city has an almost predatory feel after dark, and I tend to agree with him. There's a strange, almost feral tension in the air sometimes, especially down along the Rue St. Catherine. Maybe its the uneasy mix of homeless people and tourists. I don't know.

Kaffeeklatsch--we talked a lot about girl stuff, including clothing and horses.

I've only been to Montreal once, and enjoyed it, but it was a rather odd experience as a massive gas leak ensured that most of the old part was cordoned off, and the authorities weren't sure whether they could contain it. Being in an about-to-explode city is a curious experience, but I saw enough of the place to know that I liked it.

Old Montreal, crepes, farmer's market, maltcon09, lots of other fabulous fun. A true pleasure getting to know you. Thanks for the lovely company.

Handed you a mouse at the signing; knitted or spun or something during the kaffeklatch and made a rose out of blue suede paper for you.

I hope the Crud goes away soon, but I'm glad that not seeing you around on Sunday evening didn't mean you'd fallen into a hole or something.
