1800 new words this morning, and we're halfway through the penultimate chapter of V2-draft1, as per the outline. I think the outline lies.

The heat outside is sapping my brain, even with the a/c. In another life I was a polar bear.

I have a full afternoon of revisions work ahead, and Someone gave me a brainworm about a new short story last night that will need research, first.

The Internet, and the rest of the world, is doing their usual batshit stupid-crazy routines on sex, race, and entitlement. I can't keep up and I lost my scorecard. Text me when someone actually changes someone else's mind, k?

breaking news: Senate panel approves Sonia Sotomayor's nomination to U.S. Supreme Court, setting up confirmation vote by full Senate. I'll call that forward movement, me.

I'm the same way -- even inside with the a/c on full blast, something in my body is very, very aware of the scorching heat outside (or as the local weather dude said this morning, the "perspiratory purgatory") and reacts accordingly.

It's not so much the heat for me. This humidity, though, is like inhaling a wet sponge.

I'm near the west coast of Oregon, and today will reach 104 degrees. It boggles the mind.

Ah. The joy of Swedish summer. It rarely get over 30 C for more than two weeks. Now, those two weeks are enough to make everybody complain when the normal temperatures at 20-25 C returns. Me, it shrugs. The rain let me write. Lol.

The humidity's been nasty.
Last month's rain, though.... my boss was a weather officer. His comment about the June weather was, "it's so wet the amphibians are drowning."

Hooray on the Sotomayor nomination heading to the full Senate. I wish Sen Sessions a long duration case of laryngitis, however, and several others of his ilk....
