The author-draft of PACK OF LIES (2.2) is done. For 'reasonably sure Madame Editrix is going to hand me back an entire packet of revisions notes' levels of done. And only a month late. *sigh*

This book has been kicking my ass. I know why it did so -- the plot is a triggery one that will piss off many readers, the sub-plot is going to piss off the more Twu Womance readers out there, and the villains are all, well, not exactly wearing black hats, and the obvious villains...aren't. But I think I finally got a death-grip on the problem areas, and I'm actually quite satisfied with the way it turned out. I really do love Bonnie, and am constantly amazed while writing her how very different she is from Wren -- and yet people will doubtless claim that she too is me. Some of her inevitably is. But lord, not much. Oy.

Now to see what Madame Editrix thinks (see above comment). Then I have to figure out exactly what's going to happen in Book 3. But I have a little time for that, yet.

New Book will begin in 5...4...3...

FWIW, I love you for doing this. Just on principle.

From what you wrote in this post, Pack of Lies sounds like my kind of read, so thank you :-)

Heh. I didn't figure it was something you'd done on purpose, necessarily. But I love that you just went with it, critics be damned. I also love the gray-ishness of the villainy thing because that's one of those things that makes me nuts. That the villains Should Be Teh Villains and there can't be, you know, layers.

*remind me to email you later about the Recent Happenings.

*SNORT*

As if that'll happen. But if, on the offhand chance it ever did (which it won't), yes, I'd take you in and feed you Good Stuff.

I second fashionista_35 on forgoing the critics and Twu Romanceists and writing a story that has plot twists and "Oh! Would you look at that! Who would've known!" moments. It refreshing, and shows depth of the storyline, writer, and characters (what speak you this of layers?)

But, in the event that it should completely flop, there are the royalties from your other works (if Google hasn't ripped that rug out from under you, yet). Besides, you wouldn't want to move in with me. Although I have an adorable kitty, you would have to share her with the three children. Besides, you don't want to move back to Jersey, do you?

This has happened to me before (not paying attention as the world is turning) what's the first book in the Bonnie series of stories?
