1. Said this morning: "I really need a break. And not the psychotic kind, either."

2. It's when you don't bring a camera that you really need one. Coming back from my walk this morning I saw two squirrels, one grey and one black, foraging on the same bit of lawn. Their tails brushed in passing, and they both sat up and stared at each other, like imperfect mirror images. And I, being me, could only think "there's a nice bit of cover art for a squirrel High Fantasy epic..."

3. Wisdom from the word war: "generally when things are broken they're broken for a reason, and fixing makes it better. But that doesn't mean we have to enjoy the process." (moi)

4. Sekrit message to word warriors: Fixed! Really and truly this time. I think. Can haz yayz!

5. And, stolen from [livejournal.com profile] jpsorrow's LJ, the following announcement:

Also, don't forget that a bunch of wonderful authors will be doing a signing at the CENTER COURT (not the Waldenbooks, although it's being sponsored by Waldenbooks) at the Oakdale Mall in Binghamton, NY, on June 20th, from 1-4pm. Here's the announcement for that:

SIGNING!!!!!
Center Court at the Oakdale Mall
June 20th, 2009

List of Guests:
Anton Strout [livejournal.com profile] antonstrout
Joshua Palmatier [livejournal.com profile] jpsorrow
Jackie Kessler [livejournal.com profile] jackiekessler
Laura Anne Gilman [livejournal.com profile] suricattus
Barbara Campbell (not on LJ yet)
S.C. Butler [livejournal.com profile] scbutler
Patricia Bray [livejournal.com profile] pbray

We should have a rocking good time there, because most of us will be imbibing beforehand, and we all know how that goes. Tell your friends! It would so awesome if we all completely sold out of books at this event. Expect a heightening of tension and an increase in announcements as the event draws near. And keep in mind, if you don't live near Binghamton, NY, but would like signed copies, you can contact Waldenbooks at (607) 798-7452 and arrange to have them signed for you at the event and mailed to you. We aim to please. Just think, you could get signed copies of at least book 1 of our series from ALL OF US. Imagine what joy you'd get upon receiving that box on your doorstep. *mmmmmmmmmmm, delicious booooooooks*

I may borrow the break comment...I'm feeling that way myself.

I wish the gathering were closer to me, sigh. Sounds fun!

Speaking of signings, you're going to be at Dragon*Con, right? (If yes, will you have time away from professional obligations to get a drink or lunch or something with me and the husband?)

Mr. Havoc was deeply excited (so was I, obviously) when I told him I'd seen it on your schedule. :) Do you know what kind of panels you'll be doing? Or is it too early for that yet? (We get a reading, right?)
