This post is mostly to remind you that you still have One. More. Day in which to enter the last contest of April and win a signed copy of BLOOD FROM STONE!

I went outside today for the first time since...Saturday? Was like the first day in a foreign country.

Treated myself to some fresh pastry for lunch, which I probably will regret, and then came home before I started to cough and somebody called the CDC*. Then I took a nap. How can I be getting better and still so worn out? Now there will be more page proofs, and some work on the manuscript draft, and whatever else I have the energy to do.

I am so very ready to be healthy again, please thank you.

Anyone else sick? What stage are you in?

[*however, it has been pronounced that I have boring old every-spring flu, not anything exotic. Alas, I am NotAStatistic]

Feel better soon.

If I don't get something from the Clarke awards last night (average breathing range: 6 inches), I will be amazed. Have a severe, non-alcohol related headache and a temperature, treated with ibuprofen, cake and red wine (I know). We will see in due course.

I'm chronically ill, but somehow I don't think that's what you meant. ;)

I hope you're feeling better soon, and that no one decides to grab you off the street and throw you in an asylum for porcinely diseased.

Sick as a dog down on the farm. I had the inklings that I was getting sick yesterday, but have now graduated to the "Hit 'im hard, leave his stomach empty, and watch him squirm in exhaustion" stage.

Well, I'm a tad better than when you saw me last; I'm past the dribbly nose, what,-you-mean-my-sinuses-are-not-on-the-outside-of-my-skull phase. Now I just have that niggling cough and wish I had a 'script for Albuterol handy. Spouse, on the other hand, is feeling like crap--nausea and chilled. I'm shipping him over for meds the minute he starts a fever.

Pastry for lunch sounds divinely luxurious. Was their cheese involved? Better than my lunch. Don't worry about the napping. That's when your body is doing the actual work of healing.

NOTE TO SELF: Never have a conversation and type at the same time. D'oh!

I am not currently sick, though I am getting on 6 planes over the next 2 weeks (4 of them between now and Sunday) so I assume I'm doomed. I'm washing my hands like Monk, drinking borderline-toxic amounts of Emergen-C, and hoping for the best.

Yeah, my employer actually asked me to try to find some today. No luck so far, though -- can't tell if they're sold out, or if the local places just haven't started stocking them yet. This ain't Japan. :} I'll check the Duane Reade by our office before I head for the airport tonight.

Curse me, but I never get sick. I have had a few brushes with injuries, and weird allergies and sensitivities, but I've never had a cold or flu and will probably be one of Those People who are among the 75% or so who don't get the flu.

But I sympathize with those who do get ill and wish I could share my exceedingly good health with them.
