Official release day is 1 May. This stops nobody, and (alas) is a reason why I don't get on monthly bestseller lists any more, because the book is on-sale the last week of one month and the first week of another, and it gets split.

FLESH & FIRE will go on sale 10/13, and I'm going to ask everyone to buy it that week, so I have a shot at the hardcover list. *grin*

I looked for a wiki of your secondary characters and couldn't find one. Drat. It's hard to remember names when most of my copies of the books are in storage!

Personally, I love the being who writes the fortunes in the cookies from the Chinese place. It's a great example of working magic into everyday life, and I think everyone secretly hopes to get a "real" fortune cookie once in their life--at least until they actually get one. It's also such a convenient way to embed plot devices without going overly into deus ex machina mode.

Thank you - I knew it was a 'B' name, but pre-coffee is not the time to dredge things out of what passes for my mind.

I have added UNUSUAL SUSPECTS to my Amazon wish list so that it will get purchased next time I need to get the order large enough to get the free shipping (probably Saturday), but the other 2 don't show up in a search - when might I expect to see those available for pre-order?

I'm going to go with PB.

As for why, I think that his reason for being with Wren is less selfish. While Sergei loves Wren, he has a selfish reason for being with her. PB just wants to be there. He isn't getting anything out of it.

I think my favorite secondary character would have to be James Koogler. In the first book (Don't know if he shows up after that point, I'm afraid), he seems like such a great guy before the thing with the stuff happened (Don't know if I should include spoilers here!)

His ability to hold onto himself in the end of STAYING DEAD, after all that's happened to him, gives me a real sense of connection with him.

For some reason I really like Andre Felhim. Once he appears you know Wren is in for nothing but trouble! I like how he's always calm, cool and collected, right down to his spotless suit, but you know he has that evil vibe about him. He reminds me of a polite mobster.

Maybe I just like troublemakers?!
