The difference between being an adult, and being a grown-up (Grup):
A grown-up would never think of having the last half of a giant cupcake for breakfast.
An adult would discover that she enjoyed the cupcake more than the frosting.

Things Accomplished yesterday:
- wrote 2500 new words, to bring me within striking distance of the 1/4 manuscript mark. Yay.
- rejiggered portion of outline for Vineart 2 to flow from what actually ended up happening in Book 1 (as opposed to what I thought was going to happen).
- cleaned (yay!)
- filed (yay!)
- wrote checks out for The Taxes (decidedly Not Yay)
- prepped contest winner mailings.
- updated financials (ugh)
- exercised
Things Not Accomplished yesterday
- the last redlining of the draft of PoL
Things to Accomplish Today:
- Installation of kitchen countertops! (YAYYYY!)
Drat. Pushed back to tomorrow morning. *is sad*
oh, yeah, and some of that working stuff, too.

Okay, I now hereby throw this post open for Castle-squeeing. Or, as we like to call him -- "Kitten."
Okay, nekkid sweaty Nathan. Yes. Okay, moving on. *pause* i said, moving on!. There are already screen caps, you can go back and drool later. Storyline, now.
The plot suffered, IMO, against the Return of the Ex -- I didn't think that a NYC cop wouldn't have a decent 'alternate religions' expert somewhere in their rolodex -- but there were a lot of decent moments [being aware that "Castle" is never going to be a gritty cop drama, that's just not its thing] and at least they're paying passing awareness to the fact that they need actual motive and evidence and warrants -- even if they do seem to come with amazing speed -- and that Castle may be helpful but the cops are still aware of him as a civilian. Some day one of them is going to bluntly remind him that every time he goes near the action he risks having Alexis put into her mother's custody -- or worse, her grandmother's! -- and he will fall back like a stunned carp and behave himself for at least a week.
Meanwhile, the Ex B-plot was just wonderful -- especially A's response to her mother. 'Is it okay to love someone and not want to see them?' Oh honey, so very very yes....
