Better known to most of the world as "Deep Throat."

He had been ill and of deeply failing memory for quite some time, so I will not mourn his passing, but rather salute his life, his courage, and his honor.

Stand and remove your caps. A hero passes.

I'd gotten into watching NCIS, and they'd had an episode in which an old man comes into the building after Spec Agent Jethro Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon) and set off the metal detector, when they wanded him (is wanded really a new word?) it turned out he was wearing his Medal of Honor. The old guy couldn't remember why, but did remember using the butt of his .45 to quiet his buddy on Iwo Jima. Since he thought he had murdered his friend, he tried to confess and when the JAG officer came to arrest him (with two marines), Agent Dinozo moved his tie aside & exposed his medal, causing the JAG officer to roll her eyes in disgust, and the marines eyes to widen (only momentarily) before all three popped to attention.

Now before I get harrassed, the point of this post was in relation to a hero passing and failing memory
