1. BookVew Cafe is site of the week in the Guardian Online! Woot us!

2. Took a break from work at lunchtime to welcome Mei-Chan (and The Parents) to Ch. Felidae (a trial run on taking puppy out on the bus). Pandora took one look and ran for bedroom, where she stayed under the tv stand for the entire duration of the visit. She wasn't stressed, just Do Not Want. Booomer stood his ground, his body language somewhat puzzled but curious, and he suffered Mei-mei to come up within several inches of him -- offering exuberant play-invites -- before raising a paw. Mostly they sat and looked at each other, or Boomer watched while Mei-mei explored (she wasn't allowed in the bedroom, where Pandora was). Even when she decided to chase him a little, he kept his cool, and never showed any aggressive body language or fear (considering he outweighs her 2-1, that's a good thing). So, we consider the visit a success and I can, if need, puppy-sit here, rather than going down there.

(and now the cats are back to their usual spatting with each other. Oy)

3. Because I was feeling the urge to get Really Organized, I just sat down and plotted out the basic structure for the next 12 months, not including page proofs, copy-edits, or any of the inevitable production/promotional/infernal fiddly bit of publishing:

Dude, your website got on the Guardian?! That's so awesome!!

And I'm glad that there was no puppy-kitty warfare, it's sad when different species can't get along sometimes, but I'm happy it didn't get above playful "ewwwwww, MOM what is it?!"
