Today has been a Not Good Day, mainly through the application of a thousand duck death-nibbles and bad news from/for other people. Dear Universe: can we have a new better stronger smarter economy for year-end, please? I took a dandelion break that didn't much help, came back to the desk -- and Boomerang got up on the desk, reached out a paw, snagged my sweatshirt with his claw, and pulled me in so he could headbutt me (that's how he hugs).

*melts*

I then shnooogled him until he went 'aw, mommmmmmm" and left in boychild disgust.


This is why we let them live, even when they wake us up at 5 am.

(Pandora, having a code in the kiddy node, has been sleeping on my pillow all day, letting out bathetic little kiddy-code sneezes. Vet says she'll be fine in a few days, poor thing.)

We had a breakthrough today with the new cat, Josh. We took Rico (the other Aby, who is tiny and very unassuming) into the guest room where Josh is sequestered for now. And Josh has been talking and head-butting the bed, and approaching Rico and nose-touching, and talking to us and walking out from under the bed in full sight of the humans (he hasn't done that at all before now!). I think a few days of Rico coming to visit, and we'll open the door and see how Josh does with the idea of coming out to the rest of the house. (And pray that Dawn, the Bengal dominant female of the house, doesn't walk in, hiss in his face, and scare him back into hiding under the bed 24/7.)
