Since we have a lot of newcomers here *hi newcomers!* I figured it was time to do a recap of What Is Here and What's Not.
What You May Find in Suricata's Journal:
- Talk about writing. Mine, sometimes other peoples, random thoughts and full-out essays. I don't talk myself through every step, but when something occurs to me, I try to share it. Hopefully it's a) coherent and b) of interest to the casual reader as well as the obsessive writer.
- Updates on my career as it staggers along. Sales, publication dates, gleeful noise, bitchy whinges... the whole megilla.
- Talk about the publishing industry in general.
- Dispatches from the City -- specifically, neat/crazy stuff going on in town.
- Politics. Not so much usually as you've been getting lately, but a fair amount. I'm a pragmatic social liberal with lashings of fiscal reality, so that's the filter you're stuck with here. I welcome all comments from either side of the aisle, so long as you play well with others.
- Food neep. Yes. Talking about what I've cooked, what I've eaten, what I want to eat. Also, booze.
- Travelogues. My parents stole me from Gypsies; I have an incurable and enjoyable need to see what's over the next hill. I like to share what I see.
- My family. They're entertaining and they're fair game. Especially since they also read here.
- World Events (anything that stirs us all is fair game to discuss, be it weather or war, money or religion)
- Random feline picspam and stories about said felines. Because that's what the internet is really for.
What You Won't Find in Suricata's Journal
- Details about my personal life. Not because I'm morally adverse to sharing with multiple-hundred of my closest friends I've never actually met, especially if it's a good story, but because my personal life is shared with people who haven't signed on to become blogfodder.
What Your Job Here is:
- Read. Respond as inspired. This is an interactive toy that's powered by typing....
And now the coffee is drunk, the sun is out, and I am being Dragged Outside. Catch y'all on Monday!
