Robbie Greenberger
Aug. 14th, 2008 11:09 pmI see on the f-list that Robbie has left us. Damn. Just....damn. He fought the damn good fight against leukemia, but sometimes the good fight isn't the winning one. His dad's a friend, and I'd been hoping that my bone marrow profile would be a match.
Twenty years is not enough time on this earth.
Light a candle and raise a glass, and say a prayer for the easing of the way for those left behind.
And if you can, take a moment in his memory to register as a bone marrow donor. It takes a little cash and a few minutes to swab for DNA, and you just might be able to save a life....

Date: 2008-08-15 04:10 am (UTC)But....what if....he lost the fight but actually won the war and is right where he's supposed to be...with God.
I'm sure he's smiling down on you now.

Date: 2008-08-15 01:13 pm (UTC)I've been on a road roughly the same as the one Kate, Bob and Deb are on right now. It's going to be hell for them, and it's going to take a long time to get through. There is nothing that will fill the void, you just somehow learn to live with it and move on.
