I had a very very bad (turning blue, hello ER) reaction to lobster as a small child, and avoided all shellfish on the advice of my doctor. It wasn't until recently (when I was in my "I can cook fish in the house again!" revelation) that I decided to get rechecked, on the hope that in the 30 years since then, something would have changed. Lobster still makes the inside of my mouth swell up, and shrimp makes me feel ill, but crab is lovely. Everything else is still on The List of To Be Tried.
