Amusingly, it was Pandora who sat still for it, mainly because she had claimed that spot and be damned if she'd move for a minor inconvenience she'd determined wasn't going to eat her.
(in order to keep them off the desk, I'd taken to using the keyboard vac every time they jumped up. I figured a) they'd get the hint and jump down, or b) I'd have less cat hair, one way or t'other. Win-win, by mom's POV! Of course, it's Boomer who is the real fur-menace and he's still vac-shy...)
