Monday: rain, wind, and roadwork...
Apr. 28th, 2008 08:39 amall of the above three are occuring outside my office window. I'd be cranky about the third, except the first two are making the ConEd guys so miserable, I don't have the heart to hate them.
Meanwile, I have fresh-brewed coffee, cats grooming each other (okay, Boomer is trying to lick Pandora's ear, and she's giving him the Death Glare), and a pile of good work to dive into. There are worse Mondays to have (see above re: ConEd workers).
And on the earlier topic of She is Not Me, two of the main characters in HARD MAGIC were originally envisioned as being based indirectly on several people I know -- simply because I thought those personality traits would work well [read: be good for conflict] against each other. I still think so...but the characters are refusing to comply, and instead developing in other directions.
"Its your fault, you know," one tells me. "You're the one who gave me that particular Learning Experience. You've only yourself to blame if I actually Learned from it."
Bookses are ornery things, some days.
