strange day
Apr. 8th, 2004 02:11 pmI've been one day off all week. Tuesday I thought was Wednesday. Wednesday I was honestly convinced was Thursday. But today, I seem to be off by two days backwards, because I keep thinking it's Tuesday.
Poor Monday was left totally out of the loop. We'll see what happens to Friday, but since I have to go to the evil witch-doctor and give up various samples and be hooked up to machines, and all the other things they make me do on a regular basis, I suspect I'll just blank the whole day out entirely.
Wish I were going to WHC this weekend. I need something to shake me up and give me a reason to be this confused, and that's just the thing to do it to me. But, alas...
I shall be home. Working. Cleaning. Organizing. Being disgustingly proactive and effective.
Well, that's the goal, anyway.
Today seems to be the day for five-minute chores. Like five-minute mysteries, except I can check something off on my list when I'm done. Cancel various no-longer-wanted subscriptions, check. Doublecheck deadlines on stories, check. Send in copy before deadline, check. Reply to pending e-mails, check. Balance checkbook, check. File (ugh), check. Schedule lunches for this and next month, check. Set up and send agreement for new client, check. Write editorial letter for current client....
Okay, working on that one. It's a complicated project. And doesn't fit well into the five minute windows of opportunity my brain's functioning in today.
Today's a day, in short, where I wouldn't have minded a meeting or three. But unless Pandora wants to set one up, I'm SOL. And deadlines lurk on the horizon...
