Apparently, the part of "no cats on the desk" that the cats didn't understand was "no."



First pass revisions for BLOOD FROM STONE are complete. I estimate about a thousand words removed, and two thousand added. And a compromise between what I wanted and what Madame Editrix wanted in one particular scene has been achieved, and is not displeasing.

Now to let it sit for a while, and rest my brain (or, yaknow, work on other things also due). Then I get to do the line-by-line read. Wheeee.....

And it is still snowing. Hey, kradical, wanna go sledding?

This cat does not look like it knows the meaning of "no." It's got "privileged" written all over its furry face. But as desk ornaments go, it's quite attractive. I want to scritch it. That's me all over: encouraging bad behavior wherever I go. ::giggle::

Getting an orange cat to do anything against its own wants and desires is, quite frankly, like herding cats. Given the set of his ears, you must have said something really stupid and offense, like "Please get off my desk."

Oh, Boomer knows "no." Whem I say it, he stops, looks at me to determine if I really mean it, then withdraws his paw (or posterior) from whatever it is he was about to do. The two exceptions to this rule are

1. eating plants
2. sitting on manuscripts.

(especially the latter when Pandora is already on my lap and smug about it)

They hate anything that takes my attention off them, and insist on being in the thick of things. Pandora had already claimed my lap, so...

Of course, this is also the cat that tends to fall asleep on my cell phone, so who knows what he thinks is "comfortable?"
