lagilman: coffee or die (truth to power)
[personal profile] lagilman
Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) and his voting-bloc, and all of us citizen-voters who stood up and shouted and got the bloc formed to say not just no but HELL NO to the FISA Amendments Act of 2007, which would have given amnesty to the telcoms for their part in Bush's "wiretapping without warrants" gig.

It ain't over yet, not by a long shot, but we just proved that yes, we-the-People do have the power to be heard, and to get our Senators to respond to our will. Sometimes, the system actually does work.

I am pleased to say that all of my Senators, from NJ, CT and NY, voted nay [except Ole Joe, who had the decency to get the hell out of DC and not cast a vote].

Also, kudos to Senators Clinton and Obama, who both got off the campaign trail to come back to vote Nay. McCain did not cast a vote. Spineless, or scared of what might be revealed if the lawsuits go forward? Anybody's guess...

If your senator voted Yea, feel free to kick them. Hard.
