"Pushing Daisies." Still so wonderful, and smart, and surreal and bittersweet, and the bit with the Confederate heir had me dying -- not just the dainty accent but the homage to Errol Flynn and every staircase swordfight evah.

"Life." I wasn't sure, but yeah, still has its hooks into me. Even the meh episodes intrigue.

"Bionic Woman." I found myself, alas, multitasking during it. Never a good sign. Where has the snarky fun gone?

"CSI." Heart, spoon. Although technically they've already et it, and we're just waiting around to clean the plates. Yes, I did happen to like that character, if not always what they did with hir, and I think the show will be the less for the loss.

(I actually ended up watching a bit of CSI: Miami, don't ask me why. Dear Universe, nothing this bad can happen without intent. It's taking on the karma-hit so we can have good tv, isn't it? Tell me there's a reason for it to still be on the air....)

"Chuck." Meh. It's still cute, but cute alone doesn't keep me interested.

And so the die-off begins.

Re: Chuck - I'm with you, opinion wise. It's perfectly fine "on while I wait for Heroes" and adorable, but the very end of last week's has me intrigued, because I think it shows the possibility for some more serious arcs mixed in with the screwball eyecandy.

Funny, I seem to be your polar opposite. I'm really enjoying Chuck and Bionic Woman, but Pushing Daisies and Life hold no interest for me. I also gave up on CSI a season or two ago, though it's still a fun procedural to watch if there's nothing else on I want to see.

I've given up on Bionic Woman. Life's too short.

Speaking of life being too short for this stuff, I sat through the premiere episode of Viva Laughlin. This was a bad idea. Worst show of this season, hands down.

Pushing Daisies got my interest when I found out Lee Pace was is in it, his performance as Calpernia Addams in "A Soldier's Girl" was phenomenal so I wanted to see him in a new role. I've only seen the one episode and I enjoyed it, but I am not sure the show can hold up over time. If they can continue to solve murders like they did this week, it could be fun and the Asian with the southern accent was awesome.

I haven't seen Life or Chuck. Bionic Woman, I think it is going to fail, especially since the character I seem to like the most is Sarah Corvis. When the shows protagonist is less popular than the antagonist, it doesn't bode well for the show.

I love CSI, but last nights episode was too predictable. I solved the hormones in the water thing the moment they showed the victim's room. I called the mother as the killer of the family friend the moment they found the body. The other death just didn't seem to be interesting. But every show can have an off episode. I think the line where Gris responds to the statement about knowing how the victime got there with "Yeah, hate." Made me proud of the writers. I don't quite understand your comment about the character thing, is someone leaving the show?

Or maybe you have awful taste and everything I do is perfect!

OK, I just did a search to find out who was leaving. I can only say whiskey tango foxtrot. I can't see anyway they can do this without doing the whole predictable create hardship for a main character thing. They've basically created additional romance and then they are going to destroy it. Would have been better to just kill her off at the start of the season. I suspect girl with a million questions will be moving to the night shift to fill her role. :(

I finally figured out that the reason why they always show it SUPER saturated colorwise is to actually get Horatio's hair to come across as red. I watch it because a) I like to mock things, b) if one could ignore Horatio completely, everyone else is, for the most part, cute and worthy of watching, c) there's NOTHING else on at 10 on mondays that I want to watch. There's no one *that* cute as to make it worth watching over anything else.

Yeah and girl with a million questions is also on CSI NY with a different face and neither are very interesting.

I find this exit totally predictable and I hate it. If they were going to take that character off (and I freaking hate that they are) then they could have done it in a more creative way.

I think I have ennui. I'm growing less and less interested with every episode of many shows. I seem to multi-task a lot. I'll admit though, so long as Katee Sackhoff is on BW, there are some shiny moments. I still like NCIS. And Bones.

What's sad is that they chucked so much from the original (BBC's Blackpool), replacing it with things like Hugh Jackman's shiny mobster and an overload of glitz. That really plays against the story -- they've lost the moral journey of the protagonist, turned the murder into a bog-standard mystery (in Blackpool the victim is a no-account wide boy being aggressive after getting hammered on his stag night) and thrown out the more interesting mystery of who Ripley Holden *really* is. There's also more of a parallel in the story with Atlantic City than Las Vegas -- setting the US version in Laughlin makes sense, as it's somewhat analogous to Blackpool, but that only works if that element of desperation and ambition amidst the dingy conditions remains. Unfortunately, it doesn't -- it looks just like Hollywood Vegas.

The song element was also handled much, much better as well -- it's much more in keeping with Dennis Potter's The singing Detective, and the song choices are much more interesting; at one point David Morrissey and David Tennant face off to "These Boots Are Made For Walking" and in another a drug bust goes down to The Smiths' "The Boy With The Thorn In His Side," complete with dancing policemen and bums.

Oh, and the other thing that went missing in the hacksaw conversion process was the humor -- Blackpool is hilarious.

(I dug up a copy of the BBC series after seeing Viva Laughlin, as I'd heard about it on and off. It's so engaging that I've blazed through the episodes. The hours just fly by.)

As I said in my journal, CSI: Miami has become a crack-addled piece of weirdness, and isn't wearing that well at all, especially with how flesh-crawlingly creepy David Caruso has become.

Agreed on CSI original flavor. The bee-keeper scene was just adorable, and I'm told highly, highly positive things about how certain matters will be handled, and if that information is correct then I will have very good things to say.

I also adore Pushing Daisies. It's caused me to actually like Kristen Chenoweth. Also, I want Jim Dale to narrate my life.

Well, after 3 weeks in the good ole US of A, I have found new meaning to the the line from "The Wall" "16 channels of shit on the TV to choose from" (or words to that effect since I'm not sure I have the quote exactly right). No matter when I tuned in, it was bad … bad … bad.
