I keep waiting for the day when Middle America hears "Born In The USA" on the radio and instead of just bellowing along to the chorus, stops and *finally* listens to the words.

Amen. there's a pared down version on...Tracks, I think, that was the original arrangement. The album would not have been quite the blockbuster it was, in that version...

Recently I saw Jen Chapin (Harry's daughter) perform a haunting cover of the song that *really* hammered the true meaning of it home. I'm sure that's much closer to the original arrangement.

Actually we were stage right. Stage right is to the performers' right as they face the audience, and we were on the side with Clarence.
Despite years of high school and college performance, I still had to look it up.

*frown* really? All those years of stage crew, and we were calling it wrong? (who cares what the actors see -- we had to make sure the light fell correctly!)
