Home from the Big City

May I just start by saying that, much as I enjoy living where I am... I miss Manhattan. Horribly, wildly, and with much whining because I, like most mortals, cannot afford to live there.

*sniff*


But I was down for the day to teach a 3 hour seminar on getting your foot in the door of genre publishing. A good class, filled with writers in pretty much every genre, from Regency romances to full-out horror, and I hope that I gave them the information they needed. Teaching a seminar for the first time requires a lot of adapting on the fly, and I'm not entirely happy with my performance, but I'm my own toughest critic, especially in these circumstances.

The review sheets will come back soon enough, I suppose. If I did good, they will invite me back. And if I was really good, maybe they'll let me do an on-line course, so y'all can play along at home...

Anyway, that, and visiting with my folks who are just back from the fjords of fjordland, ate most of the day. I have only written 600 words. I am a looosah.

and now I need to sleep.

You know, I really am losing my English. I read "loooosah" the first time as "looooossah", and I wondered how you were getting "looser" by only writing 600 words. *eye rolling icon*

If you get to do an online course, I want in. I'm trying to maximize my efforts in writing and marketing the stuff. Now go take a nap. You are no looosah.
