lagilman: coffee or die (love is magic)

Started out the writing day with 400 words that will belong in the penultimate scene of the book, as it's now plotted out. The dialoge came to me in (where else) the shower, and I figured I might as well get the exchange down now, to use when the scene comes up. I've learned the hard way that forcing myself to write completely linear might be easier in terms of plotting, but I rue the Stuff that Got Away too much for it to be practical.

But then I went to where I had left off, and put down almost 3,500 words (and still scribbling, so that might reach 4,000 before I crash). And that's even with having to write around descriptions and specifics in one scene because I haven't been able to get to the site I'm writing about to take notes recently, and I don't want to go on memory.

Of course, I'm also changing stuff on the fly as ideas occur, so I'll have to print it all out and see if it actually makes plot-sense at some point... *ulp*

Nonetheless, I think it's safe to say that today was a Good Writing Day. :-) I know this because even stuff that should have sent me into a downward emotional spiral was reduced to a two hour sulk, and then I worked the emotion into the scene at hand and moved on.

A quick hit off the current scene, just because it amused me:

“You know, I’m pretty sure that not being certain which shadowy organization put a tail on us is a warning sign that our lives are just too damn complicated.”
