EtA: Some of you are lying -- you met me first on-line. Of course, it was 10+ years ago....

Also, "meerkat" or "mk" seems to center around jygml. So not a shock. If you don't know what jygml is, you probably don't think of me as meerkat.

And kradical refers to me more often as "Gilman" than "Laura Anne." He seems blissfully unware of this fact, however. ;-P

I'm actually inclined to say that I "know" you though our mutual IRL friend, Deb. She's why I friended you on LJ; she kept pointing me at conversations that were in comments to your posts.

I had to laugh, thinking of you yesterday, since there was a huge two-page spread in US magazine for the upcoming season of Meerkat Manor.

I know I friended you the same way hilleviw did, through Deb and discovering that we had an almost eerily similar way of thinking. After realizing we shared the same exact birthday, that made perfect sense. :-P

I find it interestingt that none of the answers really fit those of us who read your journal because we like your books. I wouldn't say I know you, and I don't think there's any reason you should know I exist.

I wouldn't even say I'm a fan - I haven't read all your books yet, even. I will, though. And I think your journal is an interesting insight into the process, so I lurk here.

I answered 'other'. I've only met you on livejournal, although I've heard of you from elsewhere.

But I'm name challenged in general, and I have trouble remembering what your real life name is, (perhaps it would be more accurate to say *which* real life name belongs to you), and I'm not really that much better at remembering your handle either. So I didn't feel comfortable voting for any of the choices you gave.

I hope it doesn't offend you to discover that a complete stranger who likes reading your journal mostly "knows" you as [the writer/editor with the user picture of that cute little furry guy].

I think of you as "Laura Anne Gilman", author of Staying Dead.

I'm bad with names, so if I'm going to remember an author's name I go for the one I have to look for in the bookstore. If we met face to face I'd probably call you "Ms. Gilman" until instructed otherwise.

For the other questions, I started reading your books a bit over a year ago, I think, and have only known you online through this journal.
