Yesterday I spent most of the day poolside, working. Yes, working. The rough draft of "Lost Souls" is done, and two chapters of the freelance project are put to bed. However, there was some mellowing, too. At least until the teenagers returned from their day trip to Mexico to reclaim the pool, when I retreated to the bar and a light supper with two gents in town to film an infomercial. Interesting guys, interesting job.

Today was spent wandering around the San Diego Zoo with trusty semi-native guide [livejournal.com profile] marinarusalka. Many critters were seen, and many photos were taken, and I will post them as soon as I've narrowed them down to a managable few. Because, seriously. Over 100 photos, from tigers to pandas to otters to fossas.

Fossas?

Yes, (Marina, I was right -- "A member of family Eupleridae, it is closely related to the mongoose." What can I say, I know my mongooses)

For now, sitting in the airport, awaiting my flight up to San Francisco. Yay for outlets and wireless connectivity. Updates as they happen....

please give Deb a bigass hug from me, would you? Life hasn't been so easy lately. And make her play the bluegrass Sympathy for the Devil for you too.

Fossas have been one of my favorite animals for a very long number of years.

I remember a nature program where the guy was trying to study Fossas. Apparantly they are shy.
