A TORNADO watch?

Actually, southern New England gets a few tornados every year. One of the worst tornados ever recorded crossed central Massachusetts for an hour in May of 1953.

We're on the tail end of that particular front and got only rain and wind out of it. We needed the rain, too.

Huh. I lived in NYC for seven-plus years as a teenager, and remember hurricanes. Twisters, I tend to associate firmly with the southeast and the Panhandle.

Of course, here in NorCal, we have our own particular little earth movement issues.

Tornado warnings were not all that uncommon out in NJ when I was growing up -- I can only think of a handful of times one was actually sighted, but we had the warnings on a semi-regular basis, and I learned how to recognize that particular shade of uh-oh in the sky...

*looks out window, checks rising breeze* Nope, I think we're just going to get a thunderstorm. Works for me...

We got tornadoes regularly in Michigan. Get them here in Virginia as well.
