Periodically I think things like "we need a puppy, that's what we need."

And then one of the cats slaps me, and all goes back to wellness.

Also.

1. Kudeta makes fabulous gyoza. Yum.

2. The usual interpretation for someone dreaming of books does not always hold when it is a writer/editor dreaming of books... (my subconscious is being Captain Obvious again).

3. I really need a certain level of deadline stress and activity 4-6 days a week. Otherwise I have days like yesterday, wherein I did a decent amount of work (including invoicing for said work) and still felt like a complete and total slacker. I was accused of being a workaholic. If so, I'm the laziest damn workaholic ever...

4. I seem to have developed mild later-life pollen allergies. Or maybe it's just New Haven pollen that is mighty. Either way, I'm cranky about it.

And now, to the day.

where as my family does not have a cat which is why phone calls to my parents now go something like this:

Me: Hey Dad what's going on?

Dad: Not much, not much. I picked your mother up at the airport and -- Patton! Patton, come here! No! I'll call you back! The dog is . . . *click*

Doubtless I will hear where mother was flying in from or what the dog "is . . ." when he calls back.

I was having those thoughts pretty regularly until I started agility work with T2.

Allergies are a total bust. I recommend finding someone local (within 5 miles, if possible) who keeps bees, and talking them out of some local honey. Have a teaspoon a day, on or in something cold (heat kills the bit which works). It works on the same principal as allergy shots, but it's cheaper, tastes better, and doesn't involve needles.

Each time you have puppy thoughts, remind yourself: house training.

My doglets like to sit on my chest when I'm on the phone, so I often have to explain to clients "that's my dog panting, not me...."

Yeah, I can't seem to feel productive unless there's a deadline breathing down my neck.

And my allergies seem to get worse every year. Blech.

I share the occasional puppy longing. It's very hard on weekends when we have to drive by the abandoned K-Mart parking lot and people are out there selling puppies and kittens.

That depends on what kind of pollen you are allergic to. If you are allergic to the flower pollen local honey will help. Unfortunately, if you are allergic to tree or grass pollen, like me, you are out of luck. Bees don't collect tree and grass pollen. Someone needs to train the little buggers better so I can have honey on biscuits every morning and write it off as a medical expense. And quit this sniffling/sneezing/headache stuff. Blech.

The newspaper had quite an article about how terrible the pollen is this year. Global warming, what's that?

Better than the chocolate allergy I used to have.

I wish you luck. And if you find a fix for it, share it with those of us who haven't? *sniffle* Please?
