I went out to get a diet coke, to help me deal with the baby shark that just appeared (okay, that I just invited in, damn it, I'm a freelancer, it's what I do) and came home with three vases' worth of irises.

my workspace is now filled with these

I really am so filled with simple pleasures, right now.

I love Irises. One of things I plan on plating in my new garden, once I get all the nettles out, is a bunch of black irises and some of the purple one like you showed.

Irises are among my favorite flowers, on the very short list with tea roses and freesia.

I don't have the full gardening gene, but I do appreciate it in others.
