Future timeline:

Libby appeals conviction and ties things up in court until the end of the year. Conviction is held in early 2008 and Libby goes to jail. Last act of G.W.Bush is to pardon Libby in January of 2009 as he walks out the door. Libby goes on to have a wonderful career writing books and working the lecture circuit.

I'm not so sure it did work. Libby took the fall. The power behind him didn't and it doesn't look like it will. Fitz is saying the case is closed, we can all go home now. I don't think he was working on his own, neither does anyone else, nor did we get to the meat of this, that Bush and Co. lied to make a case for war and covered it up. Ultimately a senior aide took one for the team and the real criminals are still in power.

What happens to Libby? Can you say Danbury minimum security country club? I knew you could.

That's what I was thinking, however, Rep. Waxman is NOT made of melting hydrocarbons, and all the stonewalling done to his calls fin or investigations through 2006 involved partisan politics in which Waxman belonged to the House minority party... no longer, those who blocked and stonewalled him, are now in the minority party in the House of Representatives. Fitzgerald is on the agenda for testifying before the House of Representatives or at least a Waxman-chaired committee.

I doubt if Waxman is going to be as vicious and noxious as the person he replaces as committeee chair, but then I think a venomous snake was less vicious that the predecessor.
