from the managing editor, on a job I just handed in:

"(the copy) actually made me add the title to my ultra long list of "must read" and if you can get my attention..."

(managing editors are the news-desk chiefs of the publishing world: weary, cynical and convinced there's nothing really new under the sun...).

also, [livejournal.com profile] windrose? I hate you. If not for you I could have gone my entire life without discovering this mad letch for Edwardian clothing and hats....

Bad, bad [livejournal.com profile] windrose! Because I am now considering buying this hat (http://www.vintagemartini.com/clothing/hats/1930s/pages/6286.html) to wear with my black winter coat.

Also go, you! on receiving the well-deserved compliments.

That is definitely an outstanding compliment :)

And the dress and hat would look lovely on you!

A most excellent point.

Val stopped by last night to borrow some costuming pieces for the Halloween party at work next week. As we were digging through my closet, I realized that I have an awful lot of vintage clothing. I also have way more 30s pieces than I thought, both vintage and reproduction. Go fig.*g*

Yeah, don't tempt her to spend her plane ticket. I'm looking forward to her coming to Paris.

Ooops! Forgot to sign.

Paris in May was so absolutely lovely.

*Girasole sighs with the sweet memory of it all*

It would be best if our lives could include both Paris and that extraordinarily pretty dress, but choices must be made.

hmm. The pattern should be fairly easy to find or replicate, so you could have it in pretty much any color :) Though I'm not sure which colors would be period-appropriate if you're going for accuracy rather than just a fun style.
