========
"Heroes" rocked. Mind you, I am not only not a geek, I haven't ever read any comic books whatsoever. Yeah, is true and it desn't bother me a bit, no. That said, I loved this show. It was cliched, yeah -- even non-geeks knew that -- but it still rocked. Especially the switch with the brothers, which didn't so much surprise me as it confirmed to me that the writers are to be trusted with the above-mentioned cliches. Nice twist, very nice. Sort of counterpoint to the 'daddy evil' thing, which was painfully obvous.
I may be alone in not having mad love for Hiro -- he's great, and very cute-in-a-good-way, but I could see a little of him going a long way and too much becomng annoying, unless he gets some depth, fast. Claire the cheerleader is currently my favorite, because she's just so bloody-minded.
Now let's see what they do with all this set-up. Could be fabulous. Could sink and die. Am hoping for the former.
=========
"Studio 60." Feel the love. Just feel the love. And feel the cold sweat of that last shot of The Clock... fkcuing brilliant. I didn't expect to adore this quite so much -- I am not among the Devoted Sorkin Followers. But so far, not a single off note in last night's ep.
==========
But the best moment of tv last night came via the news, when they were talking about an Australian man who had come to town to be best man at a friend's weding and ended up in jail for drunk-and-disorderly (thereby missing the wedding). But that wasn't the story. The story was that he was caught performing, and I quote, "a sexual misdemeanor" in the lockup, and was charged $900 for, and I quote again, "HazMat cleanup." Eeeeee.....
