why I love my editor...
Sep. 6th, 2006 11:39 amI mean, beyond the fact that she is an excellent conversationalist, understands fannish glee, laughs like it could cure cancer, takes me out to lunch, and buys my books?
Because we can have a conversation that starts out "okay, when you said X in the revision notes, did you mean...what exactly did you mean?" goes through "Oh, you think maybe if we...." runs into "oh. brilliant. yes." and ends with "and I can have another week to get all that done? excellent!"
In that same conversation we also discussed health matters, convention matters, future project matters, feline matters, corporate matters, and random silliness. The only food group she doesn't cover is snark, and that's okay, I get my RDA of snark elsewhere. ;-)
Now my brain is all pumped up with What Needs Be Done, and -- more -- her confidence that of course I am more than capable of doing What Needs Be Done and doing it Well.
So, having cleared my plate of everything else currently due for a variety of other employers and potential employers....
