Worldcon Updates
Aug. 19th, 2006 04:58 pmAll right, I need a final head count of volunteers for Two Beers and a Story on Thursday night.
ETA: as of last count, we had
kradical,
hoosier_red,
equesgal,
davidlevine.... who am I forgetting?
For those of you who missed the first go-round in Boston, the rules are simple:
1. Bring your Weapon of Choice (laptop, pad and paper, wax tablet) to the bar.
2. Order two beers (at once or one at a time, your choice)
3. Write a story in the time it takes you to finish those two beers.
4. Interrupting the thought processes of your fellow players with jokes, general ribaldry, singing and gossip is not only allowed, but required.
It's not so much of a contest as a challenge -- prove to yourself that you CAN write under any and all conditions! And yes, people HAVE sold the stories they wrote during "Two Beers" (although I still think
kradical cheated, since most of the dialogue in his story was lifted verbatim from our monthly poker games...).
There is a limit to how many can play, simply for bar-logistics -- let's say six people, with priority going to past players. If someone wants to start up another round at another table, go for it!
There MAY be a new twist to the challenge, depending on my mood of the night. *grin*
Annnnnnd now: A Poll.
