the writing life: end of a very long week

Various contracts signed and sent. Line edit done. Copy job done. Need to go over to Occasional Employer and pick up a project that needs to be done ASAP. Got my revision notes for Burning Bridges. About the same as usual, with the revelation that the editor doesn't know how to solve the problem I threw into her lap, either. *headdesks* Must. Have. Flash. Of. Genius!

Must at some point also do food shopping, hit Staples, and go to the bank. Joy.

Reading Jane Lindskold's Child of a Rainless Year when I have moments in-between.


Sunday, if it doesn't rain, I get to go sailing. Wind. Water. Wine. I need that, badly.

I'd be curious to know what you think of Child when you're through with it. It's in my TBR stack, which is starting to intimidate me now that it's mostly full of "people I know" books which must be taken a little more seriously than I've been taking books in the TBR stack.

So far it's (as expected) quite well-written, and the background is very interesting. I think for fantasy of this particular sort I prefer Nina Kiriki Hoffman's voice, but that doesn't mean I won't enjoy this as well.
