Took the afternoon to go with [profile] kradical and [personal profile] girasole to the Yale Center for British Art to see both the "Finding Shakespeare" exhibit (very interesting if small collection of portraits, objects, and Stuff) and "Britannia & Muscovy: English Silver at the Court of the Tsar" which made my outer magpie make graby hands at the sealed, alarm'd cases. PrettyShiny!

And thence to the real point of the pilgramage: The Group W Bench, which [personal profile] girasole remembered as being a craftsy, political-themeed head shop Back in the Day. And yep, it still is. But the stinnk of patchouli was bearable, and good findings were found (Including a lovely bumper sticker of "Partnership for an Idiot-Free America" which I ended up not buying, because Darcy doesn't DO bumper stickers.)

And now, having spent the afternoon with matters social, educational and whimsical, I must get my ass back to the project at hand, so I can continue leading this life of (hah!) freelance leisure...

Would I be a bad enabling sort of person to tell you about the Hobby Lobby magnetic strips, adhesive on one side, that are bumper sticker sized and adhere nicely to cars?

I enjoyed today so much. If only [profile] kradical had not succumbed to con crud.

The little clothing pins and metal buttons found in the excavations of Shakespeare's Rose theatre were just incredibly moving and exciting to me.
