Just came across a catalog for promotional materials. Included among the products was... advertising fortune cookies.

Oh, the temptation, the temptation....

"You will soon go to dealer's room to buy BRING IT ON"

"On your shelf you will soon find a new book by Laura Anne Gilman"

"A Retriever is coming soon to your home. Don't bother locking the door."

"Help, I'm being held captive in a promotional fortune cookie factory!"


Oh dear. I am so tremendously tempted...



(for those of you who don't get the joke -- every title in the Retrievers series is inspired by a fortune cookie someone gets, from a very cranky Seer who is holed up in the back room of Noodles' Chinese Restaurant...)

My year at clarion, the guy who collected quotes for our t-shirt saved *all* of the best ones, not just the ones we put on the shirt. And his wife who is a lovely lovely person printed them out and cut them up for the fortune cookie people so one of the last days of class, we came in and found cookies with our words in them. soooo weird.
