the writing life....
Apr. 25th, 2006 12:49 pmExcerpt from author's logbook:
Had emotional tagline for book 4 delivered to me -- in shower, of course. note to self: need larger hot water tank.
In middle of writing very delicate scene, realized I needed to insert important line of information into text early, so the big reveal can actually happen. Thankfully, smarter lizard-brain had already established a conversaiton where said info would fit well, and logically. Good lizard-brain, have a mosquito.
Blood spilled, check. Arguments raging, check. Internal emotional arc is now effective throughout entire five book series. CharTort is in a go, I repeat, CharTort is a go. Also, Wren is much worse at relationships than she or anyone else knew. Sergei's not so hot on them, either. When a demon is dr phil, you're screwed.
Note to self: when your characters reassure you that they've got it all worked out, you can believe them. You can't trust them, but you can believe them.
Also, they need more yogurt.
