You're out for your morning walk, and see a 6-foot-tall orange mouse down the street. And you continue walking three more steps before your brain goes: Orange. Mouse. And then you walk another two steps before you think: Person. In mouse suit.

And you're back in the apartment before you wonder what the person in the orange mouse suit was doing in the orange mouse suit.

I'm with you. What was a 6-foot-tall orange mouse doing out in the morning? Everyone knows, mice are nocturnal.

a decade ago, I might have agreed, but ever since the cows have been fed hormones, height is not as good an indicator of mouse age as it used to be. further evidence of this can be found in the increased number of mice who are foregoing college entirely, to begin their NBA careeers right out of high school.

Sure it was a mouse? The mascot at the high school down the street is a tiger...

Ok, tigers and mice don't look a lot alike. But are school mascot uniforms really all that accurate?

He's the proverbial church mouse?

(also, what was he doing down by the Church, rather than the school? Team's mediocre, but I'm not sure prayer's the answer...)

Praying he wouldn't be set upon by gangs of anti-orange-whatsit bullies, probably.

Sanctuary!!!

I'm so glad I'm not the only person who does that shit. My worry is about driving a car when the neurons are firing that slowly.

So you've got Furries living in your neighborhood? Maybe you can do a reading for them, or at least get a lift to the next Con.

What I loved the most was the way all the shoppers (this was in Australia, BTw) were utterly ignoring it.

That's a Way Too Tired stage. Been there, deep sympathies. In my case, it was a late night after way too many late nights. I was driving home to my duplex via the back way, which was residential and winding through condos, wooded area, and natural rock walls. Suddenly I am slowing to a crawl because of the guy in front of me, who is moving at a trot.

The guy is a whitetail deer, moving briskly down the middle of a two lane road..

And I'm thinking, Can't he move a little faster, for pete's sake? I'm TIRED.

Then it finally hits me that I'm thinking about rushing a stag.

Second thought--Sleep moves to the top of the priority scale...
