do we have more than one source for the alleged #2? I've heard it repeated, but all the sources track back to one blog, which isn't enough for me to take it as gospel, yet (although it's certainly within range for His Imperial Presidential Majesty George Thanks to the Grace of Dad....

The wiretapping without court order violates the illegal search and seizure clause, and the federal legislation which set up the FISA or whatever it is court, which was specifically setup for the purpose of reviewing wiretap requests that the government considered needed to be done secretly. One of the judges for that branch of the court system, who kept his main federal judgeship, resigned this week in protest from the wiretap review court.
