I'm soooooo tempted to post sign #2 here at the radio station... someone with lots of $$ and little sense decided that our soft rock station should go ALL CHRISTMAS ALL THE TIME as of turkey day.

It makes me want a rifle and a tower. Wait! We have a tower! Excellent... ;)

(I've already taken a few stations off my rotation because they're playing too much Christmas music -- their loss, not mine!)

Not to mention advertisers... I saw an angry email from one that said something like...

"I paid $$$ to advertise on a certain type of station that appeals to a certain demographic... not an all-holiday station. I'm not going to listen, and I don't want my commercials to run."

heh... that's probably going to get more attention than "that midday chick" (aka me) on the rawk station. ;)

Yeah, that's sort of breach-of-contract, isn't it? To sell space on a certain kind of station, and then turn it into another during the prime buying season...

Scooping the second.

It's funny... during a time of love and joy, I find myself swearing under my breath more and more often. Shudda heard the sounds coming out of me when, mid-November, ads started up with fake snow and even faker charolling.

Bleh.

I'd prefer to wait until the 20th, cut off at the 26th. There, thems happy, I's happy..er.

I get earwormed rather easily. Some years back I semi-consciously generated a defense mechanism, which almost partly works, of coming up with internal lyrics that are very contrary, or at least orthogonal, to the s/e/d/i/m/e/n/t/s sentiments expressed in the words of the songs played. The few words I can remember of one of the spur-of-the-moment-made-up-defense-lyricis are, "It's the most horrible song in the world...."
