Home from the lightning visit to London, which was wonderful but also far too short. I have too many friends who live too far away. That sucks in ways I'm only now understanding.
Waiting for the whomp of jet-lag to hit, which it will in about *checks watch* two hours. Update: Right on schedule, 8:55. *ker-thud* But had good time, managed to get some writing done, some actual business done (two meetings and a get-together and maybe a new client for d.y.m.k.), much biz gossip, and some important thinking about on-going Things and Themes in my life. And now it's back to what we jokingly call Real Life.
But first, some of the London haiku...
oi! You brown-beaked gull.
The train leaves 6 minutes past;
pray it doesn't rain.
Pour me another.
London Bridge is falling down...
I'm damn tired, too.
Eros misname'd
Soho at night, glittering;
Children out too late,
Cry gray rain
Leaving london-town.
Bloody hell.
