"Time has been kind to "The Adventurers," at least to the degree that its delirious 1970's production design has come to the forefront. The picture has no less than two disco-themed Eurotrash fashion shows that should offer a goldmine of ideas to Lower East Side designers, as well as eye-popping interiors like the red-shag orgy room maintained by the shady international financier Charles Aznavour. The movie achieves true mega-badness in a scene that finds Mr. Fehmiu relieving (Candace) Bergen's character of her burdensome virginity in a greenhouse, while fireworks explode overhead at symbolic moments and the stamens and pistils of various plants look on with excited interest. All this, and Ernest Borgnine, too. $14.99."
Admit it, we all have someone on our gift-giving list who really wants this for their birthday...
In other news, it continues hot with the fun addition of humid. The List o' To Do remains my taskmaster, while my ice tea and the a/c, they comfort me...

Date: 2005-07-12 02:29 pm (UTC)If you don't have AC, go get a bag of ice cubes a styrofoam cooler and an adjustable tall fan. Set it to blow down on the ice and towards you. Bingo, instant Ice Conditioning.
Don't worry, for your visit, we're renting a NASA air conditioned Space Suit, so even your walks from AC'd building to AC'd car and back will be cool and comfortable!
(sorry the semi naked serving boys with hand fans and iced drinks fell through, who'd thunk they had a union!)
