I was going to make a post about today's Expotition to the Bronx Zoo, but I find myself unable to write anything right now, having just learned that Pat York has been killed in a car accident.
Pat was a SF writer who lived in upstate New York, and was, among other things, a delightful conversationalist, and a strong mentor of newcomers to the field (including many of the writers I worked with).
This is a terrible blow, to those of us who knew her, and those who are now cheated of a chance to meet her.
I mourn, with a fierce and bitter anger.
