Merry Christmas, for all who celebrate. And a continuing Happy Hanukkah for those who celebrate that. And a belated good solstice, and an early happy Kwanzaa, and...

well, everybody just have yourselves a grand old time this week, okay? :-)

Loot report: a trio of speciality jams in a refillable holder than can double as a spice rack, gift certificates, and a bottle of Mackillop's Choice single malt. 22 years old.

I'm being good, though, and waiting to open it until more scotch drinkers are present. The anticipation is killing me.

as more presents arrive... from my sister, hand-made chocolates and a lovely little buddha-figure made, I think, by one of her monastary retreat-mates. I did say we were an interfaith family, no?


Anyway, having survived (mostly) the christmas eve dinner here, we're off to an early supper at the in-laws, and then cookies and eggnog and etc at further family in south Jersey. And then home to fall over and await/prepare for the real holiday celebration around these parts... New Year's Eve!

Cool on the scotch! I had my own Breakfast of Champions, making my hostess make "that face" when I told her my breakfast was the small shot glass of Glenfiddich I had during the pre-dinner socializing. :-) Martha Lee is fun to tease.

I think my brain just bent at that combo (and my mother's voice, suddenly yiddish, plays in my head; "What, not even orange juice? You need some fruit! And take your calcium pills, you're not young anymore!")
