They're keeing you on a six month, or a nine month schedule? I'm being moved to a nine month schedule (from 12 months) with book four, I'm told. Eeeeeee!

Six months for Scardown, and then five (!!!) for Worldwired. I got pushed up. (Something to be said for blowing away your deadlines, I guess.)

I haven't sold them anything else yet, though I have a proposal in, so whether there will be schedule for a fourth book remains a mystery.

Fortunately, they're all written and delivered. Apparently I am the current land-speed holder for delivery and publication of a trilogy at Bantam. *g* Two calendar years from date of sale: November 2003 to November 2005.

It helps that it was 2/3rds written when I sold it.

Let this be a lesson to us all: don't delivery too much before the actual deadline, or you will be "rewarded" with eeep-making scheduling of said book.

Of course, I tend to make 11th hour on day-of, so I've no fear of such a reward... *grin*

Heh. Yah, eep-making. On the other hand, I am a single excruciating rip kind of girl (there are two kinds of people--those who prefer a single excruciating rip, and those who prefer a series of agonizing jerks) so I'd probably do it again.

At least this way I don't have to wait until 2006 to find out if the fans are sending a lynch mob.

The second book, I've found, is far more terrifying than the first (waiting-for-reaction-wise). Hopefully by the third I'll be jaded on that front as well. By six, I intend to not even notice that it's been released... (hah! I can hear several people snorting into their coffee)
