notes from World Horror in NYC
Apr. 8th, 2005 10:05 amSeen last night around 9:30 while walking back from dinner: a stream of police cars, both marked and unmarked, lights flashing, sirens wailing, driving down 42nd street in a steady but speeding manner. And I do mean a stream -- about thirty of them.
No VIP being escorted, as far as I could tell. So either they were coming back from/going to an officer's wake, or there was a riot at the U.N.
Then it started to rain, and we couldn't get a cab, but we did get a cycle-pulled rickshaw. Built for two. There were three of us, plus a heavy backpack. That was entertaining.
The rest of the evening is a single-malt-infused blur. I remember seeing people. I remember talking to people. I remember thinking "well, I've missed the last bus." There are no blank or otherwise missing portions to my memory. It's just all sort of blurry after midnightish.
Will say that it's the most smoke-free convention I've been to in a while. Everyone's quit smoking!
