state of the meerkat, weekend edition
Jan. 19th, 2014 10:57 pmSaturday can best be summed up with "work work work + CatofSize to vet numbers are good yay + stay inside weather + sleepy cats + stew for lunch + comfy sofa = no no must work have deadlinzzzzzzzz...."
Also, I wrote an essay about my Overlord.
But I managed to get work done on Sunday, if only because there's a lot of work on my plate, damn it. And since I didn't get to Arisia, I might as well make it count, right?
And - on a whim, after some red wine, I read my story "Don't Toot Your Horn" out loud for the first time, and was struck by a number of thoughts, not the least of which was "I really should put together a collection of my weird-ass and non-traditional stories, and e-publish those suckers. because e-publishing means never having to say "I'm sorry I'm not commercial enough for bookstores."
Hrmmm. *considers that, tables it for until AFTER the Kickstarter has either (hopefully) funded, or crashed and burned.*
Speaking of the Kickstarter, our push to get two more Sylvan Investigation stories out into the wild has reached 47% funding! In four days! I'd say I need to start thinking about stretch goals, but I'm terrified I'll jinx things. As soon as we get to 75%, then I'll start working the stretch.
(if anyone has ideas, though, feel free to leave 'em here)
Meanwhile, I have now seen Sherlock 3.1. Yep, quite lovely, if not entirely worth the (TWO YEARS!) wait. And yep, John Watson. I'd still hit that. He could bring Mary, too. (what? she's adorable.)
