Danny's POV, out of PROMISES TO KEEP:

One of the things I love and despair of about New York City - and Boston and Chicago, for that matter - is how a fatae can walk down the street and people look right at him and don’t react. Maybe a flicker of an eyelid and then it’s “oh, well, okay then” and they move on. In Los Angeles, people gawp. Down South, they do a faint oh dear and turn away. Outside of the cities… it can get ugly. But the big northern cities? Yeah, whatever pal, I get weirder than you in my breakfast cereal.

Oh Danny, I do so have a mad character-crush on you...

I'm having one of those days where you know what needs to be said and done, and you donwanna. It won't be fun, it won't be easy or nice, and even if at the end of it things are better, it's still maximum suckage.

But the universe is both cold and merciful, and as I was dealing with the opening salvos of donwanna, this came across my screen.
"Hobbes and Bacon." File under "creative people being awesome" and "love wins." Your dose of nostalgia, updated, for the day.

"Snow rested on the windowsill, frosting the empty street beyond and casting a white-blue shadow onto the world."

I love that opening line like whoa. The plan for the next 13 days: revise the existing 30,000 words as per my betareaders' notes, and then write another chunk of words, for a net result of 50,000 words. More or less.

Do people want me to liveblog the process, or not clog your screens with my daily trauma?
